Hebrews 11:30-31; Joshua 2; Joshua 6

Hebrews 11 is often called the Faith Hall of Fame, and it is filled not with perfect people but with ordinary, broken individuals who chose to trust God anyway. Two of the most striking examples are the fall of Jericho and the faith of Rahab. When the Israelites arrived at Jericho, God had already declared the victory. His instructions, however, made no military sense. March in silence for six days, then seven times on the seventh, and shout. There were no visible signs of progress. The walls looked just as solid on day seven as they did on day one. But they obeyed, and the walls came down. That is the nature of faith. It moves forward on what God has said, not on what we can see.

Rahab's story adds a different and equally powerful dimension. She was a woman living inside Jericho with a reputation that would have caused most people to overlook her entirely. Yet she had heard what God had done for Israel, she believed it, and she acted on that belief by protecting the Israelite spies. Because of her faith, she and her family were spared when the city fell. What makes her story even more remarkable is that she later appears in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. God did not just spare her. He made her part of His redemptive story. Her life is a reminder that no one is too far gone for God's mercy, and that salvation is not earned but received by grace through faith. Whatever walls are still standing in your life, keep walking. Keep trusting. The shout is coming.
